Authentic, mindful, sustainable – how to describe the Tillga Glück in a nutshell. Yet there is still one, very important, indeed vital word missing. Special would be a good word – with a very special connection to happiness.

When, at the end of 2019, Katrin and Hannes acquired this beautiful property, they were overjoyed with their decision. This strongly conscious feeling not only determined the name, Tillga Glück (Tillga Happiness), but also the entire concept of the establishment: namely to create a place for happiness, for wonderful togetherness, and for really special, consciously experienced moments.

The “Tillga” - also the colloquial name for “Obertilliach” – forms a strong bond between the hotel and its setting: surrounded by lush green forests, towering mountains and an untouched, natural idyll such as is rarely found today. Even getting here is a relaxing experience, to say nothing of the power that you feel once you arrive.

And “Glück” – happiness – describes the feeling that you have deep inside, a state of contentment. Whoever is happy feels good and can enjoy life. And it is precisely this feeling of joy that Katrin and Hannes add to your holiday. The joy of a tasty breakfast with all sorts of delicacies straight from the village, of a delightful walk, of a hearty “good morning” or a nice chat with the locals in the village. Often it is the little moments that make us happy. It's just a matter of recognising them, and that's exactly the task that the Tillga Glück has set out to achieve.

A glass of fine wine at sunset, the view of the stars twinkling in the sky. A board game with your loved ones, a comfy rocking chair and a good book. The gong for the Wi-Fi-free hour in the afternoon to prompt you to switch off your mobile phone, or a fascinating audio tour through the village. Or perhaps when Hannes spontaneously picks up his accordion and plays a few of his songs. And wasn’t there also something about a little bag for – oh, just come and experience it for yourself!!

We pay attention to regionality and to minimising cycles. We obtain much of our produce directly from the local farmer or from small nearby producers. And we think you can taste it!

We harness the power of the sun to help heat water for the whole establishment.

We also rely on the power of nature for the cosmetics in your rooms and we use refillable bottles made by the Unterweger company of Assling instead of disposable plastic.
